How long until I see SEO results?
The honest answer: it depends on what kind of result, and what you mean by "see."
Fastest signals (visible in 7 to 30 days)
- Google Business Profile actions. New posts, updated photos, and review responses can move profile views and calls within a week or two of consistent activity.
- AI citation rate on long-tail queries. Specific, niche queries ("estate planning for unmarried couples in Orlando") can start citing you in 2 to 4 weeks once the supporting content lives on your site.
- Site-quality scores. Schema additions, page-speed improvements, and on-page fixes show up immediately in technical audit tools like PageSpeed Insights, and in Google Search Console once you connect it.
Medium-speed signals (30 to 90 days)
- AI citation rate on broader queries. "Best estate planning attorney in [city]" or "pediatric dentist near me" type queries usually take 30 to 60 days to start citing a new content effort, and more like 60 to 90 days to cite it consistently.
- Local-pack ranking improvement. Google's local pack of three Maps results moves weekly based on signals it accumulates over a month or two of consistent profile activity and review flow.
- Page-level rankings on long-tail organic queries. Long-tail content can start ranking in 30 to 60 days if it's well-written and well-structured.
Slower signals (90 to 180 days)
- Organic ranking on competitive head queries. "Estate planning attorney Orlando" type queries take 3 to 6 months to move significantly, because Google needs to see consistent signal over time before it trusts a new domain or new content position.
- Compound traffic growth. Real organic traffic growth, not single-query wins, takes 90 to 180 days because it's the sum of many smaller wins.
- Sustained citation rate above 30%. A 30%+ citation rate across all four AI engines for all of your tracked queries usually takes 6 or more months of consistent work.
What the monthly reports show vs what to expect
The first monthly report, after 30 days on Scowty, is mostly baseline. Expect small numbers and small movement.
The second report, after 60 days, usually shows real movement on AI citation rate and GBP actions. Organic rankings are still mostly stable.
The third report, after 90 days, is where the trend usually becomes visible. AI citation rate climbing, organic rankings starting to move, GBP actions growing.
By month 6 the four numbers in your monthly report should look meaningfully different from month 1.
What to do in the meantime
Trust the cadence. Review the content we generate, regenerate the pieces that aren't right, ship the ones that are. The work compounds. Stopping the cadence is what causes the trend to flatten.
If you're 4 months in and seeing zero movement on any of the four numbers, something is off in your specific case. Email hello@scowty.com and we'll dig in.
